Who says only fresh flowers are beautiful?

Whilst hunting around yesterday for something to trigger my creative juices, I found these dried but beautiful roses and in the golden evening sunlight couldn't resist shooting them.

There's something beautiful, nostalgic and delicate about dried flowers that I just love. Nothing beats the look and scent of fresh roses.. but I just love the way their delicate features and petals remain so beautifully formed despite the faded colours.

I suppose they remind me of the fragility and beauty of life itself.

Waiting for Spring

So the last week has been a mixed bag of dreary rainy days and lovely mild afternoons.

I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of spring - mainly daffodils and bluebells. I've seen only a few daffodils so far, and many have been in the depths of people's front gardens, so not very accessible. I'd normally be sneaky and get some shots, but seeing as a neighbour awkwardly thought I was taking pictures of her out of the bathroom window the other day, I thought it best not to chance it. (By the way, I was actually photographing a sunset :D)

So here's just a little taster from a rather lazy, laid back pre-spring afternoon.

Little Winter Wanderings

Here are a few shots from my little wanderings in the last month or so. The weather can be so dull and dreary this time of year, the excitement of Christmas has long gone and most of the time you just want to snuggle up with a hot chocolate all the time, but I was strict with myself as I knew I could find some gems if I went hunting. Wandering and discovering is one of the main reasons I love photography, just having that sense of freedom and just walking and exploring for the pure sake of it.

So here are a few little shots capturing a little bit of beauty in our dreary winter days.

Walks in the Snow

Few things are more stunning than trees, berries and walks in the snow.

The first hello!

Welcome to my new blog! I can't wait to share with you my new photoblog, primarily showcasing some of the work I do and to show you why I do it.

I literally have a gazillion blogs that I absolutely love, but I must admit my eyes and brain are far more drawn to the visual essence of a blog.. therefore my blog is going to be 80% photography and 20% chattering away (this will be hard for me).

The blog will basically be the place where I document what I get upto with my camera, the places I end up wandering to and discovering on my journeys. I won't be putting all of my work on here, as some of my main work is sold via my Etsy shop that you can view here http://www.etsy.com/shop/ChloeEleanor (it's still a baby so be gentle!)

Some of my work here will be a mix of both experimental and planned - wandering and discovering places is one of the most enjoyable parts of photography to me, so expect a variety.

My passion for photography is endless and I could literally type for a month about why I love it so much, but in a nutshell: I look for magic in the everyday. Magic and beauty in the little things that we sometimes overlook in our busy lives. The beauty of light itself.

You'll also find that much of my photography can be quite abstract - I like it blurry, I like it colourful, I like to turn the ordinary into the extraordinary with my camera.

So this post is just a big hello to whoever is reading this. Big big love to you already.
